XD Design
XD Design is a brand of XD Connects (A European leader in low impact gifts for the B2B Market) with a product range focused on backpacks and bags. XD Design’s brand was built around its first product, the Bobby Original, focused on its unique design and anti-theft features. In the past years the brand has broadened and deepened its customer segments and product portfolio, while continuing to innovate its features, materials, and packaging. It has significantly increased its global presence and established itself as a well-known brand. The brand’s focus remains on anti-theft features, an appealing design and functionality.
The products are sold worldwide via www.xd-design.com direct to consumers, to retailers and to distributors in the gift industry. XD Design’s products are designed and developed in-house, are made from the lowest impact materials, and are patented. The head office is in Rijswijk, the Netherlands, with a design office in Shanghai.
General Manager
The General Manager is responsible for the overall growth of the brand XD Design. On a day-to-day basis the GM manages a team consisting of a product manager, a webshop manager, a webshop development team, a retail sales team, a branding & communication manager, and online marketeers.
The GM’s focus is on growing the retail (webshop, retailers) sales of XD Design and ensuring progress on branding and product development. The GM reports directly to the CEO of XD Connects. The brand and product direction and roadmap decisions are made in a steering group consisting of the CEO, head of product of XD Connects and the product, branding and general managers of XD Design.

The GM is also responsible for the coordination with XD Connects’ support functions (inc. HR, finance, ERP, logistics) to guarantee the team’s performance and retail sales growth. The sales of XD Design to distributors in the gift industry is handled by a separate XD Connect team.
Responsibilities

Grow the retail revenue via the webshop in Europe and retailers across the globe
- Manage costs to improve gross and net margins, including improving marketing performance, reducing fulfilment costs and implementing cost effective B2B incentive schemes
- Support the development of the XD Design brand and product roadmap in cooperation with the steering committee
- Manage a team consisting of a product manager, a webshop manager, a webshop development team, a retail sales team, a branding & communication manager, and online marketeers
- Regularly report financial and operational performance to XD Connects CEO
What we are looking for:
- Based in Rijswijk, Netherlands
- Excellent command of English, Dutch is a pre
- Experience in consumer retail market, particularly travel / backpacks, is a pre
- Significant e-commerce experience, including optimizing webshops and performance marketing
- Experience in B2B sales to retailers and retail distributors
- Experience in big-data analysis and insight creation
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
